Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CoLedger mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by CoLedger LLC ("CoLedger," "we," "our," or "us"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Description of Service
CoLedger is a financial tracking and documentation tool designed to help co-parents manage shared expenses, payments, and child support records. CoLedger provides:
- Expense logging and receipt storage
- Payment processing via Stripe and PayPal
- Child support plan tracking and dues scheduling
- Financial report generation for personal documentation purposes
2. Important Disclaimer — Not Legal Advice
CoLedger is a documentation tool only. CoLedger is not a legal service and does not provide legal advice. Records generated by CoLedger are intended for personal documentation and organizational purposes. While CoLedger is designed to produce professional, detailed financial reports, we make no representation or warranty that CoLedger records will be accepted as evidence in any legal proceeding. You should consult a qualified family law attorney regarding the use of any documentation in court or legal matters.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use CoLedger. By using the Service you represent that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
4. Account Registration
You must create an account to use CoLedger. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Maintain the security of your password
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
5. Subscription and Billing
CoLedger requires a paid subscription to access core features. By subscribing you agree to:
- Pay $9.99 per month or $99.00 per year per user
- All billing is processed through Apple's App Store
- Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled through your iOS Settings before the renewal date
- A 30-day free trial is available to new subscribers. After the trial period, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends
- All subscription management including cancellation must be done through Apple's App Store subscription settings. CoLedger does not process refunds directly — refund requests must be submitted to Apple.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use CoLedger only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, or intimidate your co-parent or any other person
- Enter false, misleading, or fraudulent financial information
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
7. Financial Records and Data Integrity
CoLedger maintains an immutable audit trail of all financial records. You acknowledge that:
- Records entered into CoLedger cannot be edited or deleted once created
- Shared financial records are visible to your co-parent
- When you delete your account, shared financial records are retained to preserve your co-parent's records
- CoLedger records the timestamp, device, and user associated with every action in the app
8. Payment Processing
CoLedger uses Stripe and PayPal to process payments between co-parents. By using payment features you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service (stripe.com/terms) and PayPal's Terms of Service (paypal.com/terms). CoLedger is not responsible for payment disputes, failed transactions, or errors caused by Stripe or PayPal.
9. External Payments
External payment logging (cash, Zelle, Venmo, and similar) is available when both co-parents mutually consent to enable it. External payments are self-reported and are not independently verified by CoLedger. CoLedger is not responsible for disputes arising from external payments.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CoLedger LLC and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CoLedger LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. CoLedger's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to CoLedger in the twelve months preceding the claim.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. CoLedger does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct we determine to be harmful to other users or to CoLedger. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date and sending a notification through the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
